Zurich, Switzerland-based ABB is supplying GE Healthcare with a complete System 800xA extended automation solution to help boost its production of protein separation media for the biopharmaceuticals industry by 50%. The plant, at global headquarters of GE Healthcare’s Life Sciences division in Uppsala, Sweden, will be the world’s most advanced facility for the production of protein separation media.

FKI Logistex, an integrated material handling solutions, won a $3.5 million contract with Internet electronics retailer ZipZoomfly.com to provide a turnkey, fully integrated, automated material handling system for the company’s new 250,000- square-foot warehouse in Newark, Calif.
